Let’s find what beauty means for us now, in the year 2016, in the places where we live, in Europe and around the world. Be that as it may, a close-up of a forgotten painting in a housing estate, a dusty window, or a skirt pattern, and even a beautiful view from a hill. Find NEW BEAUTY where others have not seen it, put it in motion in a short animation, and show it to others in our GIF gallery!
The gallery of GIFs on new beauty connects with the Searching for Beauty exhibitions where we transfer the principle of how GIFs work into objects and installations. During the years 2016 - 2017, the exposition will be open for public in several European cities. The exhibition was made for the European Parliament's Visitors’ Centre - the Parlamentarium in Brussels, and welcomes visitors from 8th July to 18th September 2016. Amsterdam, Linz, and the Slovak Design Centre’s Satelit Gallery in Bratislava follow.
The authors of the idea for the project to connect a GIF gallery with an interactive exhibition are artists Michaela Čopíková and Veronika Obertová, who work under the brand Ové Pictures; Mária Rišková is the project’s curator.
The project is a part of a cultural-social presentation of the first Slovak Presidency to the Council of the European Union under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic.
The main organiser is the Slovak Design Centre in Bratislava.
We are grateful to our collaborators, partners, and all of you who will take part in our common search for new beauty.
